  1. I for one hope you will add the the new Active Captain API to your terrific product. I have used it for years and HATE to loose the Active Captain integration. I know its not much but I for one will send you $100.00 if you would implement the to new API. Please consider I want to believe we could get more than that hundred together to make it worth your while to the community. Thanks for listening! Anthony Baker, Magnolia

From the indications so far, the new API is not something that can be technically integrated into PolarView.

Nor am I sure it is something that users would actually want on their system. There are reasons for it being an opaque module, likely less technical and more business in nature. As they say “If you’re not paying for the product, you are the product.”

If this turns out to be a wrong assessment and we are given a reasonable API to access the data, PolarView will be updated to take advantage of it.

  2. For the last three years I have been using Polar Navy with AC. it has been wonderful to have the AC Access. I too would also be willing to $ to have it maintained into Polar Navy. Polar Navy is great product for transiting the Alantic, ICW, Great Lakes, and the rivers.

I appreciate your feedback! This is not a “money” issue, unfortunately. We would be glad to work with any party provided there are no excessive legal demands or technical constraints.

Polar Navy seems to be the one that is not “upgrading”, can you explain why? because: But Garmin’s apparent good intentions don’t mean that every partner will make the move to the new ActiveCaptain API. In fact, Polar Navy has made it clear that their various apps will not display AC data updated after May, and we’ve heard from other developers reluctant to do the work involved. On the other hand, Garmin may have created a nice opportunity for good AC apps…..thanx
