UK & Ireland charts are available for download directly from PolarView (requires most recent product version 1.9.5). The introductory price is $29.99 (that’s about £19).
Can you describe in more detail the UK chart package? Does it include tidal currents and tide stations for example?
Tide information is not included in this product.
Please can you tell me the scale of these charts Your graphic shows the UKMO approach charts. Are charts of harbours included. Will the charts work with other software and will the cdrom have to be present as i use a netbook onboard without a cd palyer.
- Chart data contains all scales available from UKHO including port level.
- These charts can be used only with PolarView NS.
- CD is not required to be present. You must copy these charts from CD to the hard drive before use.
I want a West of Scotland set of charts. The many Chartworld ENC charts for that area would cost 115 euros – a lot more than your 30 dollars – but they go down to 1:30000 scale. Will your ones do the same? Do they look the same as the UKHO raster charts? Is there an example to see anywhere?
- These are vector charts, they will “look” like any other vector charts in PolarView.
- The chart set includes all available coverage from UKHO – at all available scales.
- There are no examples, unfortunately.
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded a USA state chart, and I assume it will have similar features, which seem OK. Some detail of close by features on the land is useful to confirm navigation.
Can you confirm that the Polar Navy UK charts can be added to up to 5 copies of PolarView? I only want one at home and one on the boat, but I want to allow for upgrading computers, system rebuilds etc.
